How selfish one can be?

Some on in my family called me out selfish indirectly. Well, that made me happy. Actually! In a world women are expected to sacrifice everything at the cost of not being “good enough”. Selfish kinda hits me different now.

Generations after generations people simply made it a norm, that people no longer can identify it as form of a slavery. How many people do realise their mothers gave up everything to take care of the family? Their career, their freedom, friendship, Life? Yet, in most of the houses they are ignorant and not good enough.

I’m happy that I don’t fit into their good girl norm. I kept my freedom choose the path I want, to travel, explore the world the way I want and when I want. And also, to have career that makes me happy every single day. If that means being selfish, well... Let me live this life as that Selfish woman, who chose her own career as an Artist and worked hard for it over everything else.

Thank you for reading my rant for the day!

See you soon.

Fin.

  1. I can understand that you’re a female but why is the post only about “female sacrifices”? Sacrifices of a mother is being said & why not about that of the father?

You can rant about anything. That is your wish but if you think you’re being expected of “somethings” as you belong to a gender, you should also be understanding the “male sacrifices” of a father.

Anyway, I’m neither. So nothing personal but I find it to be one-sided, the same crime that you charge the society or your family of.

    ——–
Correlation is not an indication of causation.

A – Someone calling or indicating you to be selfish – Correct
    B – You being a female – Correct

But B is the cause of A is a faulty conclusion.
